Take the sensual and emotive vocals of R&B crooners such as Robin Thicke and combine it with the grit of classic artists like Bill Withers. Take the modern sound of Maroon 5 and add a little classic Hip Hop. Take the idealist in John Mayer and mesh him with the edge in John Legend. When you have done these things, you will have created the blueprint for the sounds and unique style of Mike Maven and the Goodlife, a band of tight knit young talents from across the country whose goal is to take modern American music and move it forward.

Mike Maven, founder and bandleader, is a singer-songwriter with a passion for life and musical knowledge and diversity. Alluding to inspirations that span cultures and decades and working them into a modern popular structure is what drives this group of musicians to create together. For Maven and the band, being multi-faceted in both personality and approach is a central philosophy, and this shines through in their genre bending blend of styles.

With home bases in Austin, New England, New York, and the Midwest, Mike Maven and the Goodlife have developing fan bases in the most unexpected places with the most diverse group of fans. In the last two years, Mike Maven has opened for Hanson, Stephen Kellogg, The Wood Brothers, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Zox, and the legendary Sugar Hill Gang. The debut album was released in may of 2006 and has sold over 900 physical copies nationally in the US and Japan and featured emerging artists that have since made careers of their own. Their forthcoming release, Rules In Love, has attracted the attention of Sid Bernstein, Joe Fletcher Presents, E! Television, NACA, and features Mike Maven’s most mature songwriting to date.
