About Mike Keenan

Newbury, MA

Maniac Mike Keenan is on a mission to win hearts, minds, and a lot of laughs. “I’ve learned that if want someone to embrace your perspectives, you need to make him laugh.” His material is drawn from everyday situations and obscured news, which are blended with unique storytelling and original music.

The Maniac’s notoriety began on college radio in 2004 with songs like “Fightin’ Whities” and “Undisclosed Location” from the Corned Beef Jerky Boyz CD. Early in 2008, the “Geriatric Hip Hop” album was released. But in October, 2008, The Maniac had his coming out on “The Jerry Springer Show,” performing “Till Jerry Wins An Emmy” in support of Springer’s Emmy campaign.

A new album, “The Calling,” is presently in progress, and selected cuts will become available in March, 2010.

Maniac Mike is rarely politically correct, often colorful, sometimes off-color, and sure to keep your face smilin’, your toes tappin’, and your hands clappin’! He has shared the stage with Steve Sweeney, Tony V, Larry Lee Lewis, Dave Rattigan, and many others. He is an advocate for veterans
issues, and has performed at the NE Shelter for Homeless Veterans (Boston),
Libety House (Manchester, NH), and the 2009 Operation Rolling Thunder Ride for Liberty House. He is also the keyboardist for “Pat Cavanaugh & the
Barnstormers,” performing throughout the North Shore of Massachusettes.
