Mieke has put her ethereal voice to good use on behalf of numerous local charities and organizations. She is grateful to also have had the opportunity to be a part of shaping the ‘Soaring with Song’ concert to benefit the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, held at the Winspear Centre in Edmonton, Alberta in June of 2009, both by singing and sitting as a Student Representative on its Steering Committee. A true highlight of the evening for Mieke was to sing a solo with the backup of David Foster’s own band.
Mieke is also extremely technically proficient and is a consummate stage performer. Recently a finalist (Canada Top 10) in YTV’s Karaoke Star Junior, she has enjoyed tremendous success locally and nationally in vocal competitions.
Having already composed numerous original songs, and always with new songs being written, Mieke’s goal is to make the performing arts her career.
