Well, I’ve finally done it! I’ve gotten into the top 5! OK, I know that it’s just 1st of the month, but I can take a screen shot, and keep it for posterity!!! Knowing what the competition is, and it is great, it feels really cool to be among such talented, and Spirit-filled artists. So, if in the next 5 minutes, I’m knocked-out…it was a great run!!
God bless, Mike
I’ve been looking around OurStage for a couple of weeks now. I’m amazed at all the talend out there. I’ve been writing and performing for a long time, from folk to heavy metal, and most of what’s in between. This indie stuff is great. When I started, your only shot was to get signed by some label, and hope they fronted you enough to make it work. Needless to say, that didn’t happen for most of us.
But, it’s a new world. I’ve released 3 cd’s on my own. That could have never been done before!!! (ok, they haven’t made any money, but that’s totally secondary). It’s mind-blowing what is in the future for musicians. What we can do now is almost unlimited. I only wish I were younger, and had more energy to pursue it more vigorously.
Time will tell where this will lead me. My band is beginning to record, and I can’t help but feel that the music is getting better. Maturity brings better writing skill, and more stories to write about. Maybe that’s the secret, if you start your own record label, then “they” can’t tell you you’re too old! Any thoughts…let me know.
God bless, Mike
Well, this was interesting, seeing how it all works. I must admit, I’ve spent more time on writing, and recording than figuring out how OurStage manages to get everyone heard! But it is facinating. To go from 522nd to 197th in a matter of minutes is just mind-blowing (and just a little addicting!!!) I judged over 900 battles in just 2 days. At first it was to see my own song, but then it became a learning experience. To see all the different styles of writing the same kind of music (more or less). My channel is Christian/Spiritual. I’m proud to see so many musicians giving their all for the Lord, and if you’re recognizing your “higher power”, then that’s a good start!
God bless all… Mike
Well, this has certainly been an interesting experience…my first month on OurStage.com. I have met some very special people. Very talented artists, who are also very nice people. I’ve been a musician long enough to know that with talent, and creativity sometimes comes arrogance and a sense of self-righteousness. Not-so with the people I’ve met here.
I’m looking forward to learning more about this journey, and telling you about mine. If you go to my links you’ll see it all there for you. I’ll write here for the things that are more relevant to ourstage.
God bless, Mike
