Michael was born on February 13, 1987 and spent his early years in Hubbards, NS. At a young age, Michael began to teach himself to play guitar and by the time he was 14, began to write his own music. Michael’s early influences included James Taylor, Colin James, and John Mayer. At 19, after a tragic personal loss, Michael’s music became a vehicle for his expression and was a source of strength and healing. Now at the age of 23 and living in Halifax, Michael has an expansive original repertoire which reflects a maturity beyond his years.
In September 2009, Michael released his debut independent album, Musical Chairs. The nine-track album has earned Michael a growing fan base and critical acclaim locally. His first single, Holding It All appeared on the East Coast Countdown for seven consecutive weeks. Michael has been involved in a number of non-profit musical ventures including a collaborative single for an environmental campaign. He has been active performing at local venues and has made several radio and television appearances. His first video for his single Running in Circles is currently in production with an anticipated release in July 2010
