Growing up in the Ontario town of Schomberg, Melissa began to teach herself music, practicing guitar and constantly singing to her favorite records. No more pretend lip-syncing for this small town girl, Melissa Paxton is now doing it for real.
With dreams of one day performing her songs at the Ryman Auditorium, singing duets with the likes of Keith Urban, Carolyn Dawn Johnson or Sara Evans, Melissa began writing her own songs, developing her own country voice and started to make her dreams a reality.
Melissa sought out Canadian record producer Carl Jennings, finishing a polished three- song demo at Westmoreland Recording Studio. The project features top session musicians such as Bill Dillon (Guitar with Joni Mitchell, Sarah McLachlan), Sean O'Grady (Drums with Gordon Lightfoot), and Bob Lucier (Pedal Steel with Anne Murray, The Tommy Hunter Show).
Making regular trips from Canada to Nashville, Melissa is getting her music heard - recently being featured on Country Music Radio, playing her single "Shattered" on the air, and her web site featured on CYQO.com.
Melissa's sound is sweet & smooth, with an honest voice that will have you wanting to hear more from this Canadian country singer from the South (Southern Ontario).
