About Matt MacKelcan

Portrait of Matt MacKelcan

With his genuine combination of American soul and upbeat rock-and-roll, Matt MacKelcan has emerged from Orlando Florida as one of the most enigmatic and engaging indie front men. He’s best known for his big vocals and authentic lyrics. Matt most recently performed to very enthusiastic capacity crowds at the BMI showcase/Leaf Lounge as part of the 2008 Sundance Film Festival in Park City Utah. Matt also performed in Austin, Texas as part of the 2008 SXSW Music Conference and Festival.

As his popularity continues to spread throughout the Southeast, Matt’s sophomore CD “No Turning Back” has been released to embracing audiences. The album was produced by two-time Dove Award nominee Randall Shreve. No stranger to crowds of dedicated fans, the Matt MacKelcan Band was a featured act on the main stage in front of more than 4,000 people at the 2006 Florida Music Festival, a widely celebrated event hosting the biggest up-and-coming independent acts from the Southeast. Matt has also performed in front of more than 12,000 rowdy college students at the annual Citrus Bowl football game. Matt is a regular performer at music entertainment venues in the popular bar scene up and down the east coast, from New York City to Miami. While building his reputation as the hardest working musician in Florida, Matt has received recognition by Singer Songwriter of America as the 2005 Male Vocalist of the Year. He has shared the stage with Third Eye Blind, Howie Day, Matt Nathanson, Donavon Frankenreiter, Will Hoge, Brett Dennen and The Samples to name a few. Matt has current endorsement affiliations with Martin Guitars and Strings and Topo Ranch Apparel Company.
