To Matt DiMarino, music is life. That's the short answer to a long backstory. Since first picking up a guitar 14 years ago, in addition to 4 other instruments, it has taken him many places physically and emotionally. Initially born on the east coast, Matt knew the only place for a creative soul to thrive was California, but not before making a pit stop in Florida to receive a degree in Audio Engineering. So he packed up a moving van and picked up determination, just as a vehicle gains momentum, and eventually took up residence in Los Angeles nearly four years ago. Matt has hit the ground running never stopped. As a musician, he has graced the stages of many well-known local venues, including Whiskey-a-Go-Go, B.B. King's, The Key Club, and Crash Mansion, and opened for the likes of The Smithereens and Hugh Hefner's son's band, of all people. As a songwriter, he was chosen as one of 14 participants in ASCAP's 2007 Lester Sill Songwriting Workshop and in 2008 was a Top 5 finalist in the Henry Poole Is Here theme song contest.
As a recording engineer, Matt continues to record himself and others from a modest home studio. It is understated here that Matt is only at the beginning of his journey and will continue to open his own doors of opportunity.
