With the voice of new Soul and R&B, the energy of Hip-Hop, and the appeal of Pop music, MaryLiz is undoubtedly one of a kind. Fueled off determination, persistence, and faith, she has managed to begin turning her dreams into a reality. The R&B sensation was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, and proudly represents her home state as the place that molded and shaped her into the artist she is today. MaryLiz has been singing since 3, writing since 7, playing the Viola since 9, and became a self-taught pianist and started recording professionally at age 13. It has been blatantly obvious since day one that music was her God-given destiny. Since she lost her father in 2007and after graduating high school in 2008, MaryLiz has become relentless in the pursuit of achieving success as a legendary singer/songwriter in the music industry. MaryLiz’s onstage presence live behind her piano and angelic voice has lead to her nickname “the Princess” of R&B and also to the title of her first mixtape, “The Princess Is Here”. This was hosted by DJ Frosty of Stupid Dope Moves and released in October 2009. She released a second mixtape in February 2010 entitled “A Royal Takeover”, hosted by DJ Ames. Shortly after, she joined Stupid Dope Moves with Charlamagne tha God and DJ Frosty. Presently, MaryLiz is enrolled at the University of South Carolina taking up Sport and Entertainment Management while continuing to pursue her music career. Newly named South Carolina’s Best R&B Artist of the year at the SC Music Awards, she has solidified herself as possibly the best artist coming out of the Carolinas – MaryLiz “the Princess”: Singer/Songwriter/Producer.
