Mary Danielle is a 21 year old singer/songwriter in Seattle, WA. While her first love is music, she is constantly pushing the boundaries of what is considered poetry and what is lyricism. Mary Danielle is a 21 year old singer/songwriter in Seattle, WA. While her first love is music, she is constantly pushing the boundaries of what is considered poetry and what is lyricism. She has taught workshops at Benaroya Hall and Cornish College of the Arts for poetry and music. Mary grew up in a poor family in the North part of Washington, and soon found that if she wanted something, she had to work twice as hard to get it. She is pursuing her BA in Music Composition at Cornish College of the Arts and hopes to continue with an MA in Education. Mary's music has been called a "minor revelation, allowing the audience to connect on a deep level with each story she tells". With her small ensemble of three voices, harp, and piano, she has been called a "frontwoman of a 'female fleet foxes' mixed with the soul of Adele and some pain of old school Jewel." "She has a soulful, rich sound, but is able to tap into the higher part of her register to make you feel things you didn't know you had inside. One of the coolest things about her live shows is her stage presence. She is "absolutely quirky, endearing, and hard not to love." Mary is also a member and co-founder of the Seattle Collegiate Poetry Slam Team, competing for the National slot in Boston. Mary has been seen performing with Hey Marseilles, Tara Hardy, Buddy Wakefield, Lindsay Fuller, Karen Finneyfrock, LAnguage Arts and Def D, Rajni Eddins, Angela Dy,Danny Sherard, Moresun Wells, and is currently studying under the talented Linda Waterfall. Her hopes are to become a music teacher for secondary education, and 'make a buttload of music' in between.
