Biography

Martino Beria was born in Padua on 25 May 1987. Since he was 9, he displays his talent for music beginning with playing the guitar. He also plays percussions, so he can display his rhythmic versatility. When he’s 11, he studies violin at the public institute Leonardo da Vinci. Martino Beria was born in Padua on 25 May 1987. Since he was 9, he displays his talent for music beginning with playing the guitar. He also plays percussions, so he can display his rhythmic versatility. When he’s 11, he studies violin at the public institute Leonardo da Vinci. At the age of 13 he attends the Conservatory of Castelfranco Veneto studying double bass with Andrea Dominijanni. Subsequently he continues studying with Ubaldo Fioravanti at the Conservatory of Venice. In 2004 he begins playing jazz in Venice together with other three students of the Conservatory. He plays in a jazz quartet with Sara Fattoretto (voice), Francesco Cerclin Rè (guitar) and Luca Lazzari (drums). In 2005 he joins Waiting Light, a progressive-metal band with Luca Brighi (voice), Davide Schimd (drums), Francesco Garbin (guitar). They play Dream Theater’s songs and thanks to them Martino can practice his technic. At that time, he starts giving his first bass and guitar lessons. In 2006 he moves to Parma to study at the University but his collaboration with Waiting Light continues. In May 2007 he records his first tracks’ collection, titled “Life’s Soundtrack”. In October he records with Waiting Light the track “Insane”, but at the end it is not completed, as the band splits. In November Martino starts the FEVER-Elisa Tribute Band’s project (www.myspace/fever1977) and the band includes Antonia Mattiello (voice), Enrico Morbiato (guitar and vocals), Michele Pinton (drums) and Martino (bass, audio engineer and production). In January 2008 he joins Speedlimit 80 which plays the music of the 80’s. With Speedlimit 80 he starts playing in pubs and festivals all around the Veneto and Friuli. In the meanwhile his Fever’s project grows and he records their first Demo including 4 tracks from Elisa’s repertory. In May, the Fever band starts having gigs, which take place in the pubs and festivals in the provinces of Padua, Venice, Treviso and Vicenza. In the same time Martino writes his book, a bass method, titled “Il Metodo Bassistico”. He also collaborates with Xio Project, a Dream Theater’s tribute band; their collaboration doesn’t last long: they have one gig at Gand’s in Vittorio Veneto (Treviso) and after few months they disband. In July he works as audio engineer for the Blue Train Recording Studio of Mira (Venice). [His teaching activity gets busier and busier]. In October, he starts collaborating with S-word-S. In that period Fever have a lot of gigs. In December he splits with Speedlimit 80. In 2009 he goes on playing concerts with Fever and embarks on a solo project. In February he works on Fever live recording at Voodochild Pub, historical Pub in Caltana (Venice). In March he plays with Solo3 with whom he collaborate with Tony Pagliuca, former Orme’s keyboards player. Subsequently, he get hired as bass teacher of the Neverland Music Studio. He finishes “Il Metodo Bassistico”. In May Martino joins again Speedlimit 80. From June he starts collaborating with the RHCP tribute band, Blood Sugar Sex Crackers and records their demo. When the collaboration ends, in September, he starts playing with another RHCP tribute band called Sexypeppers. Since October, he has been playing with Gianni Latrofa, composer and arranger of international experience. In the meanwhile he records a demo for the gothic band Lachaise. In November starts a preproduction of the S-word-s’ new album and gets more skilled in keyboards and piano. In January 2010 Martino takes part in the Microbanda Malingut, a Vinicio Capossela tribute trio, with Gianni Latrofa. In March becomes the bass players of Moonwalkers, a Micheal Jackson tribute band. From April he starts having gigs all around the Veneto. In May meets Alex Masi and becomes his bass player in Italy. At the same time he gets more skilled in drums and records his first solo album as multi-instrumentalist. This album will be released in October 2010.
