About Marnee
Marnee celebrated her 11th birthday at the end of August.
When you visit Marnee's MySpace be sure to look up newspaper articles posted in the blogs & videos from live performances .
Marnee has been singing since before she could speak . She would sing, though she knew no words. From the time Marnee was 2 years old, people commented on Marnee singing & would ask if she was taking voice lessons. Marnee made up songs all day long. She would often sing instead of talk to communicate. At age 3 1/2, Marnee went to the music store with her Dad. While he was paying for some guitar strings, he heard someone picking out scales on a piano. Just then the cashier asked "How long has she been in lessons"? Surprised, after turning around to see it was Marnee, he could only respond "This is the first time she has ever seen a piano". At age 6 1/2 Marnee asked her dad to teach her guitar. He taught her some chords...then some more and soon she was playing her chords with ease . Right away Marnee put all her singing to guitar . Rare was the day you could find Marnee without her guitar and singing. Over the next 5 years Marnee continued to play , learn new styles , compose , frequent open-mic nights , win competitions and was recently featured in articles in 2 local newspapers. Just before Marnee turned 10, she picked up an electric guitar for the first time. She played for over 5 hours, never putting the guitar down.
Marnee composed 'Down In The Valley' , 'Summer Dress' & several other songs earlier this year. Marnee began recording her full length CD in June 2007 . Marnee expressed her wishes to record her guitar and vocals simultaneously . We decided to give it a try . 'Down In The Valley' was done in 2 takes.
CDs & Videos are not able to fully capture the amazing musical expression & energy that Marnee exudes. While Marnee is simply doing something she loves, if you ever get a chance to experience a performance of Marnee live - this is a moment you will always remember.
We give Marnee support, encouragement, freedom & the tools ,within our means, for Marnee to blossom musically and as an individual.
