About Mark Mitten

Portrait of Mark Mitten

Mark’s a singer-songwriter, best described as “acoustic folk.” He has a working cowboy style, although he is progressing towards folk/rock. Mark has been playing smaller events, such as coffee shops, acoustic societies, weddings & churches, the Commodore in Nashville, and for a couple years there was the “lunchtime entertainment” at a cattle drive fundraiser at the M Lazy C ranch in CO. For the past decade, he has been involved with what’s called “therapeutic horseback riding.” This is where people with disabilities are given a chance to ride. He has been employed at three different major therapeutic centers as barn/facilities managers. There were also times inbetween where he worked for an equine vet, and also transported horses across country for a short stint. Currently, Mark simply plays solo acoustic sets on occasion, reflecting a love for the western subculture and the concept of art…He loves his music and is proud of it. If you like horses, the cowboy subculture, and the freedom and goodness of life…we’re sure you’ll like it, too.

Beyond music, Mark is also an actor for independent films in the Denver area. He is currently involved in several projects, having secured the lead roles in short films and several feature length film (including a western, see Film Forge Studios.com). These are still in production, and will be released later this year. Check out his CASA web page (link below).

Currently (July 2009) Mark is writing a western novel online, as an ongoing blog. You can read along as he writes:
