Mark Dakota is a singer-songwriter, fisherman and recording artist.
Mark was born and raised on the outskirts of Crow Canyon. Crow Canyon is a small rock & roll and country music loving, ranching community with the biggest rodeo in the area. However it was not far from the San Francisco Bay Area. Therefor growing up Mark was exposed to a vast array of music on the very eclectic local radio stations, and through pilfering his older sister's music collection. This mixture of rock, country, pop, and soul music definitely impacted his musical development. But not as much as playing his Grandmothers piano trying to mimic her considerable skills. Unfortunately or fortunately depending on how you look at it, Mark never wanted to spend much time learning from teachers, he just wanted to make things up that felt good to play. That's pretty much what he still does.
The album titled Fallout contains eleven tracks. Notable tracks include: Fallout, Soldier, I don't Belong, and all the others
The songs Fallout and Soldier are featured on a website called
www.SoldierWall.com that Mark and his friend John Campbell created in response to the overwhelming reception of the music. The music had became viral and spread through email when it was discovered by several soldiers in U.S. military. Apparently they rock the album while they drive around in tanks. If you check out the site you will see that the music connects deeply with a lot of people. There are now over 7,000 Soldier pics on that site and over 150,000 comments.
Mark Dakota's other interests include all four major American sports (playing and watching), playing poker ((he was a professional poker dealer for four years), fishing and women.. Mark Dakota is currently preparing for a North American tour in Spring 2011, dates will be announced soon.
The Fallout album is available for digital download at many retail outlets including iTunes and Amazon.
Fallout is available in CD form from Amazon, C-Universe, and CD-Baby
