Like so many other musical biography’s, this story starts from an early age with a strong attraction and love of music.
Starting with private Organ lessons as an 8 year old, it helped Mark to then fulfil all future musical curiosities, teaching himself on whatever instruments crossed his path.

Like so many other musical biography’s, this story starts from an early age with a strong attraction and love of music.
Starting with private Organ lessons as an 8 year old, it helped Mark to then fulfil all future musical curiosities, teaching himself on whatever instruments crossed his path.
Further study after school was predicably music related, firstly attaining a Diploma in Audio Engineering, and than later awarded as “Student of the Year” while completing a Contemporary Music Certificate IV in Performance.
With all this musical knowledge, Mark than began seriously building his career as a musician within the Brisbane covers scene both as a soloist and with his popular band Angry Dwarf. Playing in excess of 1000 gigs both in and out of his home state gave Mark the freedom to give up the “day job” some years ago.
From here, content with his progress and with an abundance of new found time, it wasn’t long before he found himself working within radio. Here, working casually within two of Brisbane’s biggest commercial radio stations, Mark is again learning another side of the industry from the inside.
During this time, persistent with the burning desire to explore the world of original music and all the possibilities that may lie beyond, Mark spent some time and money getting together a neat home recording set-up. Together with this new equipment and his knowledge and experience, Mark recorded all instrument parts and engineered the recordings himself, packaging up the first ever selection of his original music with his 2008 demo EP “otherside”. With this EP, Mark has already performed a stack of gigs showcasing his talents, all of which have been well received and resulted in multiple CD sales, and an increasing fan base.
Some of the stand-out shows include;
- Performances in Brisbane’s Queen Street Mall (Oct./Nov 08)
- University Bars (UQ)
- APRA stage at the “Falls Festival” in Lorne, Victoria (08/09)
And most recently,
- An Australia Day Festival in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley (09)
Much like his cover outfits; Mark is keen to keep a variety of line-up options available to enable him the flexibility to cater to any event. He has currently performed solo and duo shows and is now putting together a full band to back and launch his first full album which he hopes to release before mid 09.
