Maria Benham is a singer of English / Spanish. Born in South America, now a US Citizen, Maria started on television at the age of 10, in Chile, her native country. At the age of 17, Maria won, the lead acting role in theater, at the national competition and has won awards in poetry and song writing. Later, she moved to the United States, where she took 1st place, singing at the California State Fair, then 2nd place at the Sacramento TV Talent and 2nd place, singing at the State Fair in Montana. She has won numerous talent contests as a solo and duo, with her husband, also equally talented. As performers, they were asked to entertain at the Worley's Casino in North. Idaho In 2004 she moved to Nashville, Tennessee where she performs on local TV channels. In 2004 and 2005 she performed for Smart Country TV Show with singer Jimmy Smart. Had the pleasure to talk to Ronny Robbins who has heard "Return To Me" by his late father, Marty Robbins and María as a duet, a reproduction using his father's original music and vocal track. He liked this original version and encouraged María to pursue the release of this English/Spanish song. Later in 2005 she was invited to sing for the Winters Brothers TV Show and also Nashville On Stage and has performed for audiences in Kentucky and Arkansas. In 2006 María sang for the Singer/Songwriter TV Show. In 2008 María was interviewed and performed with her husband on Spanish TV (Telemundo). She has a single "Beyond this World" not being promoted yet. María appeared in the Nashville Music Guide of July 2006 and also the Nashville Memphis Music magazine. Presently, María is working to be in the release of Ariadne’s Thread, an independent movie, 2008 under Director/Producer Lisa Abell.
