Marcel Ziul began playing the guitar in the early 1990’s, after several years of formally studying violin. Having been raised ‘on the move’, (his family had already moved fifteen times before he was 18), it did not take Ziul long to realize that his calling to become an artist was a blessing which aided in balancing out the frustration that came out of having been in stuations where he did not understand and was not understood. Life had given him no choice but to follow it.
It was in Brazil, to where Ziul moved in the late 1990’s, that Ziul met with musicians who shared his love for the blues and musical views. He joined several bands and currently focuses most of his energy into the MZTRIO, formed in 2006. Aside from singing and playing electric guitar in his soul, rock power trio outfit, Ziul often performs on his own, playing acoustic guitar and sometimes accompanied by harp players, percussionists or bassists.
Prior to his current work with the MZTRIO, Ziul released one solo album, (’A demora que me tira de mim’, independent, 2005).
