Major 5th, the synthesis of five emerging artists, combine their undeniable talent to create a masterpiece of sound. They have been together for a year and have toured around Universities and Colleges in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Such venues include the University of Minnesota Duluth, Saint Olaf College, University of Wisconsin Lacrosse, University of Wisconsin Stout, and Saint Benedicts and Saint Johns College. Their high enthusiasm and sincerity will continue to win over the hearts of their fans as they emerge into the indie rock scene. The sound of Major 5th can be described as “electrifying” with strong vocals and stimulating melodies. Vang, although petite in size, carries a full voice that lures the crowd in while letting the musicianship of Moua, McNellis, Yang, and Pen resonate the delicious melody like the ring of a bell. The atmosphere that Major 5th creates is a techno-rock and pop feel that leaves the crowd feeling alive and energetic. The band started out with six members, but now has five which includes Leng Moua, lead guitarist; Daniel McNellis, bassist; David Yang, percussionist; Andy Pen, keyboardist; and Victoria Vang, vocalist. They have contributed to the music scene in the Twin Cities and are expanding to greater heights in participating in Jam Solid Productions Battle of the Bands and fundraisers for the non-profit organization Center for Hmong Arts and Talents. Major 5th has established an unwavering foundation in the Minnesota and Wisconsin music scene and will continue to smother their fans with vigorous energy as their music grows.
