Mahogany Dust is a Spoken-Soul group that gives you triple the soul, combining acoustic guitar, spoken word and neo-soul.
This group is a husband and wife duo that originates from Northern Louisiana both graduates of Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA.

D.N.A (Destroying Negative Attitudes), who is from Shreveport, Louisiana, has been performing spoken word for about 10 years and brings the unique and insightful word play, while G-Twice, who is from Tallulah, Louisiana, has been singing since age 3, brings the angelic and soulful sounds of neo-soul.

Mahogany Dust has been featured at several places in the Atlanta area such as Urban Grind, Baby Grand Piano Bar, Push-Push Theater, The Sancturay, Women’s Empowerment Seminar (Forbes Magazine) and “The Poet’s Corner” at Urban Media Makers Film Festival. Mahogany Dust has also performed live on WRFG 89.3 fm, V-103.3 Joyce Littel Poetic Moments “Live From Sugarhill” ,BET- J Lyric Cafe’(Fall 2007) and MTV’s Made (Feb. 08). Also a host of up-close and personal settings across the Metro area.

This duo has been married for six years and they share a beautiful 3-year-old daughter by the name of London. The name Mahogany Dust is derived from the individual names of their guitars (Mahogany and Dusty).

Mahogany Dust is introducing a new positive sound to the music industry that encourages, uplifts and motivates the everyday person trying to make it through everyday life. Their sound is unique and appeals to older and younger generations alike. MD’s mission is to bring positive music back to industry, through a different avenue.
