To those of you who really want to continue to follow and grow w/ me and my music you’ll want to contact me either through Myspace.com/lukesayers or my website www.lukesayers.com as i’m not going to maintain an active presence here any longer. I’ve got a ton of stuff, w/ a lot more to come, on reverbnation.com/lukesayers too.
My stuff will be up here for a while, but i’ve found better homes for my music elsewhere and hope you’ll come along. Have a great week!
peace,
Luke

I’ve returned to the process of entering my music into the channel competition portion of OurStage, but I did not come to this decision lightly. I won’t be pestering you w/ emails asking you to “spread the word” about the songs/video, or even asking for your vote this time. Two songs and one video will represent me in this months competition, and I believe they’ll stand on their own without having to sell them to those of you evaluating the channels.
First the video in the “Live Music” channel. “Second City Serenade” is a live clip recorded @ the legendary Chicago venue Fitzgerald’s on the night I shared the stage w/ hit country songwriter Bruce Robison (“Travelin’ Soldier” by the Dixie Chicks among others) and Texas stalwart/multi-instrumentalist Guy Forsyth. It is my first mandolin feature, and I hope you’ll enjoy watching it as much as I did performing it.
Next is “Don’t Bother” in the "Southern/Blues/Rock channel. This is a track from my “Long Way Back” EP that is heavily influenced by all the soul/blues music I’ve loved my whole life. It’s a fun filled and grooving song with some great twists & turns, not to mention a smoking guitar solo by my long time collaborator Pat Shanley.
Third is “Keeping up Appearances” in the “Traditional Country/Roots” channel. This is a track from my “Radio Flower” CD that is a tribute to my songwriting heroes such as Willie Nelson & Lyle Lovett. The song is structured a lot like the great standard tunes that have stood the test of time, and is based largely in the root of all American music; the blues. It’s greasy swing w/ an attitude. I venture out into the guitar solo realm on this one as well.
Enjoy, and stay in touch.
Peace,
Luke
