Los Perros Del Barrio

"Los Perros Del Barrio" are now two "old" neighborhood dogs in San Antonio's westside who have wanted to make music since we were pup's but never had the talent to do so. Our "heart and soul" is difficult to convey into our music sometimes, however we try our best even if we are "amateurs". We play and combine all sorts of music styles, sounds and passions into our music (or so we think). Sometimes fun and sometimes serious but mostly for the fun of making our so called music. All our songs are "instrumentals" (these dogs can't sing). I don't think we can compete with amateurs, we're not that good. How we play is, we create the music as we go along not knowing what one or the other will play next as the song progresses, purely "adlib" (no practice, just start playing a few notes and build the song as we go along). We record each so called "session" live everytime with at least 8 to 10 songs each, one right after the other, all different styles or sounds however possible. Some 85 sessions to date since 2006. We are truly a "garage band" who really plays in a garage using "bits and pieces" of equipment and instruments (nothing professional quality), but enough to sound good to us. Unable to read or write music, we "play by ear" so to speak. As my "compadre" would say, "we can at least make something out of nothing". What's all that "noise" you hear in the neighborhood? It's "Los Perros Del Barrio". Sooo true.
