NEW MEMBERS!!!!! Long Day Over has officially added three new members to the group. After James Straley was removed from the group, the three piece hit the studio. By the time the album was finished, we had three new members. The first provides her amazing voice on the CD to the songs Despise and Starlight & Fame. She has proven that her abilities as a musician would be an asset to the group. So, look out world, LDO has a female in the group. The next member added is a long time fan of LDO. He has stepped up to challenge of re-writing and working out new bass guitar lines. Kevin welcome to the band. Finally, Josh from the band Under New Ownership has decided to join our ranks. He is a guitarist of 20 years. Which is amazing cause I think he is 25. But I can verify the exact ages and time frames later. He is ready to play the Rhythmn section for the group. 3 members have grown to 6 members. Time to Rock!!!

We have finished seven new songs. Despise, Starlight & Fame, Rock & Roll Beauty, My Own Way, Light Turned Red, I am Me, and Perfect. Despise and Starlight & Fame have additional vocals from Valerie Lynn. It is our first collboration with an outside musician. Our expectations were surpassed as her voice lifted the songs to a new level. Kevin our new bass guitarist added his riffs to Despise while Anthony and Jon traded guitar and bass tracks. Anthony added vocals on I am Me. Then there is the acoustic song Perfect that we finished the set up with. The album release party is scheduled for The Saint, in Asbury Park, New Jersey,on Friday May 9th, 2008. We are playing with Cherry Suede from Montreal, Canada, and we will be hiting the stage starting at 9:45pm.

Ok, so it will not be an official release of the CD since we have not gotten the artwork finished and pressing will not be done. But we will be giving out free CDs of the new album in advance of our official release. Since we do not have a label or management, there are no rules. So, free music until we find a way to get paid for it. The show is scheduled for MAY 9, 2008. Doors will open at 8pm and LONG DAY OVER will be performing at 10:00pm. We are doing a dual headlining event with CHERRY SUEDE from Ontario Canada. We have a keyboardist and guitarist coming to the studio session this monday night. The keyboardist, Gregg Jordan, is in the band Under New Ownership and is a tremendous musician. He is a classically trained pianist and vocalist. Christopher Kincaid is one of New Jersey’s best guitarists. In addition, he builds custom guitars. Hopefully, their addition will make the upcoming album ever better. We’ll keep you posted on the recording sessions.

Well, it has been about a year and its time for a new record. We are currently working on a few songs. The trouble is that we are still trying out new bass guitarists in an effort to make that spot permanent. We have about 8 songs fully completed at this time. They are definitely our best songs yet. Be ready. We will hit retro media recording studio in April and will get you all some great new tunes.
