“My life has not always been a fairytale, but I can’t complain because a fairytale ending is my ultimate goal”, says London Wilson.  1 of 3 and the only son, London had to become the man of his household at an early age, due to the incarceration of his father.  Raised in Forth Worth, TX (stop 6), London and his family moved around and lived in a plethora of neighborhoods.  When London entered the 5th grade, this would be there first time that there was actual stability as far as the educational aspect.  Before this time he was enrolled in so many different schools that it is now hard to remember at exactly what age he attended them.  Like many minority youth London lived in an urban area of Fort Worth, but because his mother was not used to these circumstances London and his sisters were not able to go outside.  This was definitely a positive when it came to London’s mother making sure she raised a productive and respectful young man; although this often made him feel like an outsider when it came to school, because he couldn’t relate to the others.  Now that he consistently remained at the same school, it became easier as the years passed.   Middle and High School at Dunbar would be the years that London would realize his talent as a rapper which is attributed to his child hood friend Walter Sam.  At first London didn’t understand the talent that his friend was talking about, because London had “Hoop Dreams” (basketball dreams) and wasn’t interested in deferring from that path.   Walter convinced London to purchase Sonar 4 Recording Software that would help advance his skills as a rapper; that next semester they both started selling candy which ended up profiting more than expected. The same year London was able to purchase his equipment as well as provide Christmas presents for his family. This seemingly helped him live up to his role as the man of the household.    In the 11th grade London’s father returned home from almost a decade prison sentence, and at the same time Walter was going thru some issues at home so London’s mother agreed to allow him to live with the family.  This was very strange for London who has once been the only male in the household to now having a father and a “brother”.  London’s father had inherited a large sum of money from the passing of his mother, and purchased a home for the family.  At this point life was like a dream, and the reality of London making music was now in view.   London recorded a song with a group of friends that had the school all requesting copies, and from there he recorded his first mixtape the Class Act with his make shift studio.   After graduating Walter went off to attend UofH, while London stayed home really with no hopes of attending college.  Thankfully, London’s father was now in the picture so he persuaded London that he must obtain a college education. His mother didn’t put pressure on him, because she too had never attended college.    After being persuaded to attend college, London enrolled at Texas Southern University, just one week after classes had begun, majoring in the Entertainment & Recording Industry.  From this moment on everything that London did would be to help catapult his career as a Hip Hop/Rap artist.  London started dropping mixtape after mixtape to help build his brand, and also started his own label Rap Star ENT. While in the process of creating a buzz for himself London was introduced to Greg Street who noticed London’s talent as a young lyricist. They teamed up for the released of Greg Street Presents “London Wilson I’m From Texas” mixtape, which created leverage and a platform for London to build from.  The mixtape lead to the opportunity to travel an open up for National Recording R&B sensation Trey Songz.  London continued the grind and shortly after released Bad Habits featuring his single “Too Much” and follow up record “Metroplex Music”.  Bad Habits help to expand London’s support base, and shows his ability to make good music that has a shelf life of 10 years or more.   He is now is the process of finishing Bad Habits 2, which is sure to prove the depth and longevity that his skills as a clever lyricist will take him.
