My name is Leslie and I’m from a very small town in north central West Virginia. I am a hardworking single mother. Nothing has ever been handed to me and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I work at Mid Atlantic Aerospace Complex as the presidents assistant. We are a non profit economic development company that focuses on NASA aerospace education.
So far, I have been born and raised here but I am eager to seek out new adventures with my 3 year old daughter, Izabella Rayne and my wonderful boyfriend Joe. I love sunshine and sand and I tear up when I see a Waffle House and a Piggly Wiggly... so I think I just might be in the wrong place. But... I am thankful for everything that has happened here and with every twist and turn in my life, it has brought on tremendous change that I wouldn’t change for the world. What can I say- I have the most ornery, beautiful, and adventurous child and the most spectacular, loving, and talented boyfriend... so I guess I can consider myself quite lucky.
Growing up, my dad turned me onto bands such as the Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Hall & Oates, Heart, Righteous Brothers, Chicago, Pat Benatar, The Delfonics, and Prince… yes I did say Prince. That laid the foundation and my sister Jamie pursued it with the appreciation for 80’s and 90’s bands such as Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, Scorpions, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, and Tool to name a few to build up my love of music today. I am very open minded with music and well rounded and I give (almost) anything a shot at least once. Today, my top favorite bands are: Mudvayne, Tool, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, Rob Thomas, Steve Miller Band, Dave Matthews Band, Jack Johnson, The Fray, Fuel, Marshall Tucker Band, Led Zepplin, The Beatles, Allman Brothers, Cold, Eagles, Korn, Pantera...and so on.
When it comes down to it, one of my favorite things to do on the weekends is to sit down and listen to a good local band, especially acoustic. Supporting local music is very important because they are hardworking and dedicated people with unrecognized talents that have to put forth twice the effort and heart and soul into their music just be heard, respected, and appreciated and to get anywhere in the industry and to ‘catch a break’. It’s disheartening to me sometimes the lack of substance and passion in some of the ‘music’ that I hear on the radio.
Check out sTrAnGeR oN tHe RoCkS- these guys are just as awesome in person as what you hear on their OurStage page. They are great friends and very talented musicians with a unique sound that is definitely not heard in these parts!
