Having been a part of Atlanta's acoustic music scene for several years, Liz upped her normal pace in 2008, growing even further as a guitar player, songwriter, sit-in musician and guest artist in numerous gigs around the Southeast. Although playing solo was always gratifying to her, she longed to have a serious band of her own. Late 2009 brought this dream to full fruition. Manager Giuseppe Colato assembled a powerful lineup consisting of Liz Lee on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Mike Delaney on lead guitar, Elizabeth (EB Tull) Tull on drums and Mark Bynum on bass. After a few rehearsals, it was obvious the band should start booking gigs and heading out on the road. 2010 brought the topic of a "2010 Summer Southeastern Tour" to the front burner. Due to other commitments, EB Tull was unable to continue in this direction with the band, and Bird Baillie stepped in as the new Liz Lee Band drummer. This new version of the band made their debut on April 6, 2010 at the Sidelines Tuesday Night Open Jam in Marietta, wowing the crowd with several of Liz's originals as well as a soulful rendering of "House of the Rising Sun." They now look forward to quarterly shows at Charlie Mopps Public House in Atlanta, Georgia and are actively booking at venues all around the Atlanta metro area as well as Tennessee and Kentucky in June/July 2010. Committed to regular and frequent rehearsals and shows, the Liz Lee Band employs the help of the following reserve musicians: Barry Richman and Brian Rosen on lead guitar, Shannon Kirk and Renard Clark on bass, and Lamar Smith and Ricky Fargo on drums. The band is also working with Atlanta session horn player Bill Smith and keyboardist Kyle Kinnaman.
