Compulsive or coincidental, it is crystal clear. Lindsey White can’t stop changing.
A far cry from the solo bedroom-showcase-performances of a teenager, the Lindsey White Band has developed a full, mature groovy sound described as, “An eclectic mix of blues and funk immersed in a solid folk-rock foundation.”
Schooled in classical piano, violin and vocal jazz, White quickly discovered expressive songwriting as a teenager and taught herself to play the guitar… all before her first gig at a Winnipeg coffee house. Since then she has spent 10 years performing at festivals and venues across Western Canada.
Four albums followed including a debut solo EP, CD single, compilation album and most recently a full length release, “This is Now.” which have all featured the unique songwriting style and powerful vocals that Lindsey White fans have come to know and love.
Since the release of “This is Now.” in 2007 (featuring the first ever rendition of “The Lindsey White Band”), White has hooked up with Alasdair Dunlop (bass), Joe Curtis (guitar), and producer/drummer, Mitch Dorge to form yet another unique sound. The new band lineup spent 2008 performing, arranging and developing a fresh collection of songs.
The forthcoming 2009 CD release is an amalgamation of many seasons of music, aiming to become a groundbreaking new beginning.
“You bring your ‘A game’ to the table, and you make me the listener walk out of there feeling a lot better than I did walking in." - Howard Mandshein
“The maturity and confidence she displays in her songwriting, vocals, and musicianship is stellar. If convention showed up at Lindsey’s door, she’d probably rock it to death just so it wouldn’t bother her again.” – Thundervoice News
