Lindsey Harper has arrived on the pop music scene with a passionate and powerful voice. This singer/songwriter from Baltimore, MD is making waves throughout the west coast music scene and by the end of 2010 will have taken the national stage to its knees. This third generation musician, whose grandfather and father were both talented musicians, started her musical career at the tender age of 6 singing in local community theater and sang live in front of anyone who would listen. Her talent led her to singing in the Howard County Children's choir, and the prestigious Peabody Preparatory Children's Choir of The Peabody Institute at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore MD. Her vocal passion then took her to the acclaim South Orange County School of the Arts High School where she sang and performed in Guys and Dolls, Les Miserables, Man of La Mancha, and stared as Anita in West Side story her senior year. Lindsey won "Best Supporting Actress" at SOCSA and was a "Highest Achievement" MACY Award Winner for the roll as Anita in 2004. After high school she put her gifts to the test by enrolling in the Musician’s Institute in Los Angeles where she completed a degree in Vocals and Piano. Lindsey’s accomplishments at Musician Institute were so significant that it lead her head vocal instructor Mike Campbell to state "Lindsey is one of the most talented students to ever graduate from MI." Ms. Harper started her first band in college where learning to play piano and write songs allowed Lindsey to share her personal stories about the life of a young woman coming into her own. It’s in these songs that she began to find that writing could allow her to share her inner most thoughts, feelings and lifelong passion for singing and performing on a whole new level. Encouraged by the support and knowledge Lindsey gained at MI, as well as the musical works of her influences like Bonnie Raitt, James Taylor, Billy Joel and Etta James, Lindsey set out to craft her own musical sound. The first incarnation of Lindsey Harper’s own musical voice is her debut recording “Living.” Lindsey wrote, sang, and co-produced all 8 tracks on “Living” from the beautiful ballad “I am Beautiful” which speaks of a young girl becoming a woman, the raucous rock/pop of “Because of You” and the piano swing of songs like “It Kills Me” and “The Awakening.” Lindsey Harper music can also be heard in the indie film “Loving Annabelle,” where she co-wrote and sang the title track. She also won the coveted Do It Yourself music award sponsored by Bug Publishing. Lindsey Harper has played 100’s of shows and by the looks of things will play 1000’s more. The voice, the passion, the piano, the artist has hit the stage take seat and enjoy the show.
