About Lee Quick

Portrait of Lee Quick

Lee Quick

Summary: Lee Quick is your typical female singer/songwriter/guitarist/Katrina refugee/ex-Army-bassoonist with a steel plate in her wrist and a penchant for sarcasm.

Straight-shooting, smart-sexy, and occasionally funny as hell, Lee Quick dishes out Americana, alt. country, new folk, and whatever else she likes. The ex-New Orleans singer-songwriter-guitarist delivers insightful and well-crafted songs with wit and warmth, and with attitude ranging from wry to wrathful to sentimental. A lifelong musician, Lee is an experienced and compelling performer, able to deliver intensity and nuance in her live shows. In short: she sounds good, plays good, and looks good doing it.

Lee’s original songs show eclectic influences from the Beatles, Elvis Costello, k.d. lang, and Lucinda Williams. Her first album, “Do You Think?”, recorded in a shotgun house – now deceased – in the Lower Ninth Ward, was released in February 2004 and is available at Louisiana Music Factory (New Orleans) and online at cdbaby.com.

In 2005 Lee survived a forced relocation from New Orleans to Nashville, Tennessee, where she appears regularly around town, including the famous Bluebird Cafe Writers Night.

• Interesting Fact #1: She has been touched by Keith Urban – twice (CMT Music Awards, 2006).
• Interesting Fact #2: She was a paid extra in a Lindsey Lohan movie (Just My Luck, 2005).
• Interesting Fact #3: She has been bear-hugged by Paul Stookey of Peter, Paul & Mary (Austin, Texas, 2006)
