Introducing Lady Mary, a powerful R&B, Southern Soul, Gospel, and Blues Singer. Born as Mary Ann House in Washington DC on October 1st 1960 famous for her singing, modeling, dancing and her sexy looks. Her stage presence and infectious personality surely grabs everyone’s attention. When the sultry, seductive, and soulful sound of her voice reaches your ear you become enraptured into a blissful state of awe and wonder. Singing comes very natural to this music veteran who began her career at the early age of seven when she sang in the church choir at Southern Baptist Church in Washington DC. The gospel experience has major influence on her vocal style. At the age of 18 Lady Mary decided that singing was her calling but was not sure how to pursue her dream. Five minutes into an audition Bandleader Jim Bennett decided she had the perfect voice and look for his band Unique Creation. Her raw talent and unique stage presence made her a natural with her audiences. She has gone on to record over 10 CDs with artist such as Jim Bennett, Jacques “Saxman” Johnson the Root Doctor, Roy C and is often a featured artist on WPFW (89.3FM) and WMMJ (102.3FM) radio in Washington DC. She countless performances with artist such as the Temptations, The Intruders, Betty Wright, Gwen McRae, Clarence Carter, Tyrone Davis, Gene Chandler, Roy C., The Jewels, Jacques “Saxman” Johnson, Halo, and performed many prominent gigs such as Blues Alley of Georgetown, The Chateau, Lamonts Entertainment Complex (major stop for Southern Soul) and even our Nations Capitol for Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton. Her influences include many R&B vocalists such as Betty Wright, Gwen McRae, Gladys Knight, and Denise LaSalle. Lady Mary’s vast repertoire covers R&B, Blues, Gospel, new and old and there is a genuine heartfelt emotion in every song that magically transports audiences to that time from whence the selection was derived as sure as God is her guiding force.
