Portrait of Kim Jarrett

Kim Jarrett

About Kim Jarrett

Toronto, Canada

Award-winning soft rock with the sophistication of James Taylor, warm 70s sound of Fleetwood Mac, and rootsy edge of Sheryl Crow.

Kim Jarrett is a lover of love songs, harmonies, and 70s soft FM. Her music’s been called real, her voice stellar, and her songs excellent, by reviewers and fans.

A multi-instrumentalist and award-winning songwriter, she has released two independent cds, and enjoys adult contemporary, college and CBC radio play across Canada. Her song “How Long” can be found on Philips mp3 products sold worldwide, and has earned over 11,000 streams and multiple Top 10 awards from the fan site, ourstage.com.

Kim maintains a busy performance schedule of 100 shows a year in and around Toronto with her longtime bassist/producer, Mike Costantino, and their showcase and festival spots have seen them share stages with Canadian 80s pop sensations, The Spoons, and American folk darling, Melissa Ferrick. Together, they can also be found in the backing bands of other Toronto-based artists and songwriters, and since 2006, have been hosting the weekly, “Tuesday Night Jam with Kim & Mike”, where local and visiting professional and beginners alike showcase their songs to Toronto music fans in a collaborative environment.

In addition to preparing new music for release and promotional touring in 2010, Kim also enjoys co-writing with other artists, as well as her work in other projects as backing vocalist and drummer. She is also an accredited FACTOR (Foundation to Assist Canadian Talent on Recordings) juror, and proudly supports United Way Toronto, donating a percentage of her cd and download sales.
