Kihenaton (or Kin)credits his musical career and his relentless hustle to make it as a recording artist to his childhood years. Growing up the youngest of three it would seem that the baby would be spoiled...not this time. Both of Kin's parents worked full time leaving this young king to himself most of the time. Each of the three children were 8 years apart from each other so his other siblings weren't around often. With no one around to rear Kin, he learned lessons of life through pimps, felons, and most of all music. Kin has been interested in music since his early days. In the early 90's, rappers like Hammer, Kid-N-Play, LL Cool J, Big Daddy Kane, and Kris Kross were his favorite. But being that he always hung out with olders he turned to the likes of Eazy-E, Dr. Dre, Snoop, Ice Cube, 2pac, and Bone Thugs N Harmony because these artist were more infomative on REAL life. Songs like "Fuck The Police" and "Trapped" spoke on how law enforcers treat young black males. Kin learned about the different type women through songs like, "Aint No Fun" to "Keep Ya Head Up". He loved this type of music because it showed him what he has to look forward to with being young, intelligent, and black not only in the industry but in society. FAST FOWARD///By 2002, Kihenaton excelled in all things he tried, from football to school. Starter in football and honor roll in school. All of this done on his own. 2002 was also the year he started his transformation into his on man. This was the first year he was the victim of brutal physical abuse from his father. With no one to talk to all the time songs like So Many Tears kept this young man company. Certain songs made him feel that wasn't alone in the way he felt. Growing older only made him colder. Physical fights between him and his father were everyday events. His mother did nothing about the situation, just looked pass it. Police officers probably knew Kin by name since they came to his house so often. Him and his brother fell off during this time also while his sister was bipolar. What does a child with no where to go and no one to talk to do at this point? From 2002 to 2006 there was no good communication between him and his family. In these years he learned alot from the streets. He started drinking more and caring less, expressing his feelings through poetry and songs. The perfect definition of a dark poet. His creativity mixed his pain in his poetry got him many awards for his poems and nation wide recognition. Who would of thought a child with no parental guidence and only negative things around him would still be focused enough to graduate with a 3.48 GPA, take the SAT once only to enroll in Clark Atlanta University in 2006. At college he met a few other students that loves the same thing he does...Hip Hop. These other students/artist are Shigurl, Tru Melody, Nesha, Gumbo, and P@ Piff. With more support now, Kihenaton is forming into a force that everyone should pay attention to. He is trying to start his own music label with G-Pat (cuz) Melech Records which includes his long time friends CB and Tim. He is starting a organization called Black Royalty. With Black Royalty he wants to bring the black community together with numerous activities for kids and community service for the needy Blacks. Through his music he expresses his pain and hurt. He gives his heart to the audience. When listening to him you feel him and what he is saying. That is what separates Kin from other artist out. Like he say,"you can talk slick and come up with metaphors all day...but do the people feel like you can relate to them in everyway?" His mission is not to be the wealthiest rapper in history but it is to reach that kid that thinks they have no way out of a situation, just like 2pac and others did for him when he was younger. To quote Kihenaton,"Sometimes you have to dig deep to find your treasure but if you give up before you reach it, all you have done is just dug a grave for yourself...I'm already in the hole so I'ma keep digging"
