Ken Yates

Born and raised in London, Ontario, Ken Yates moved down to Boston to study songwriting at Berklee College Of Music. Carrying his Canadian folk influences like Neil Young with him, he established himself as a premier folk singer/songwriter in the area. Being first and foremost a guitar player, Ken tries to craft rhythmic but melodic guitar arrangements that grab the listeners attention. Being first and foremost a guitar player, Ken tries to craft rhythmic but melodic guitar arrangements that grab the listeners attention. He pays much attention to melody, and finds a way to incorporate thoughtful lyrics into his melodies. His sound has been compared to Sufjan Stevens, James Taylor, and John Mayer. Being a true Canadian, Ken has moved to Toronto for the summer, where he works for the well-known Indy label Six Shooter Records. He is playing gigs around the area, and is developing quite a buzz in the community.
