“I don’t think you should ever take yourself too seriously. I just want everyone to have fun.”  That’s how Kenny Ward, a Connecticut based singer/songwriter, likes to go about things.  With his happy-go-lucky attitude pushing him along, he now is forging the path to musical success.             As a kid, Kenny would go around making stories and singing songs.  As he grew out of childhood, his artistic side grew and flourished, and eventually he found his true love in the arts: songwriting and performing.              It started out as some basement performances for mom and dad, but eventually Kenny tried his hand at some local open mic nights.  Having been trained in guitar and songwriting for seven years, Kenny melded his skills and music taste to create a unique style.             Even when he was running around in his Pull Ups and Barney slippers, Kenny was listening to music.  With his iPod now constantly blaring anything from Amy Winehouse and Jack Johnson to the Spice Girls, the influences have helped Kenny craft a unique folk-pop style.              As he started booking shows at local venues, his style flourished and audiences approved.  After some time opening for local and touring indie artists, Kenny started getting offers for bigger and better things.  Calls came in for benefit shows and school performances, and eventually opening slots for big-name artists like Ryan Cabrera and Ian Axel.              As he graduated from his high school garage phase and moved on to college, Kenny started getting more serious, playing cities and college gigs and creating demo recordings.  With his repertoire continuing to grow, Kenny Ward is sure to continue his success and gain more and more experience.  If all else fails, Kenny will always stick by his guitar and songbook, following his own line, “I’m alive and well, probably on my way to hell, but I don’t mind, ‘cuz I’m having a good time.”  And he’s having a good time, indeed.
