Keith Horn is a musician and composer from Los Angeles, CA specializing in aggressive satire packaged in a delicious sonic container. Keith Horn is a musician and composer from Los Angeles, CA specializing in aggressive satire packaged in a delicious sonic container. His music combines elements of rock, jazz, humor, funk, R&B, and fusion. Keith’s love of music began with plunking out Mozart and Van Halen on his family’s keyboard, while learning to play the saxophone in the school band. Upon seeing the famous “Chuck Berry” scene in the film “Back to the Future”, Keith wanted to be a guitar player. As a teenage guitarist, Keith was influenced by the shredders of the 80’s such as Eddie Van Halen, Steve, Vai, and Joe Satriani, as well as jazz greats John Coltrane, Pat Metheny, and Charles Mingus. At age 16, his high school journalism teacher introduced him to the music of Frank Zappa, forever changing his trajectory. Keith went on to study music composition and percussion performance at Western Michigan University, followed by two years at UNC School of the Arts earning a degree in Film Scoring. All the while listening to and studying Bartok, Stravinsky, Steely Dan, Tool, Debussy, and more Zappa. In 2002, Keith started his professional career as a composer for TV commercials in Chicago. This eventually led him to pursue a career composing for television in Los Angeles in 2005.
