The Era of this young black male began in 92'. Like any other youngling', his life is fulfilled with dreams and reality. Music became a part of his span since 94'. Influence by Biggie Smalls, but known as The Notorious B.I.G and UGK.
It all started with when kids in middle calling him KD-Hustler. He would sell anything he could get his hands on. Teacher thought that one day he would be a young entrepreneur. His mother wanted him to be an artist, but he never had motivation for art. Although he did have a passion for the music form of art.
He began his journey as an underground Emcee in the beginning of 08’. Since all emcee have nickname, he decided to use his first and middle initials. Kalon and Devonta create a great initial for his emcee name. From the idea of people calling him KD-Hustler, he took that name and changed it to KD the Doughboy. He also has other sideline nicknames such as Young Dough, Mr. Animated, D-Krazyie, and Young D.O.N of the South.
The first big step he took was coming up with a song. It was called “Step in my Square”. The song was written together by him and his formal partner Joshua Steven. At this point in his life, this is where he actually feels the wrath of haters. For some reason he was only motivated by them and not thinking about quitting. One of his own relative was singing the song, being sarcastic and said “Man what else you want to be in life” and laugh. He replied “Dam! I got one hater in my family, man get off the tilt of my dick.”
KD basically writes his music on his moods and feelings. It could be loves, hates, or a swagger vibe. Being from Houston, it’s a lot of surrounding to pay attention to. Music is his surroundings. Without music there is no such thing called life. People voice is music. Therefore KD is music.
