November 2009

Just wanted everyone to know that we too will be taking the holiday to spend with our family and friends. If you have questions, issues, etc. please note that we will be answering them on Monday.

I hope each of you has a wonderful holiday. However you choose to celebrate or not celebrate I hope that you have a chance to relax and reflect on what is important. I’ll be taking my nephews and niece to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade… wish me luck!

Best,

Leadership Music Digital Summit 2009 - Entire Mike Masnick keynote presentation, 3/25/09 from Leadership Music Digital Summit on Vimeo.

I just want to thank those of you that are showing your support of OurStage and the people who work here. I’ve truly appreciated the messages, feedback and patience. There’s been some really positive and inspiring words that artists and fans have expressed. Thank you.

I also wanted to let everyone know that OurStage Live will be back soon. I’m waiting to hear exactly when but will keep you posted. I know how important it is for artists to connect with fans and vice versa. In fact, I’ve been spending a lot of time thinking/ talking/ working on this with the team at OurStage as well as with industry events (like the NMS) and with bands (like the band I’m mentoring for the documentary I’ve been working on).

I found a really interesting presentation on CwF, using the example of Nine Inch Nails. Thought the artists out there might find it inspiring. Check out the player for the presentation.

Elliot Yamin was kind enough to grant me an interview while I was in Guam. It was really interesting to hear about his goals pre-Idol. Hope you check it out.

We are very excited to partner with Lilith 2010. The touring music festival is looking for aspiring female artists to perform at each stop of their North American tour this summer. That’s a performance opportunity for roughly 40 artists. It’s also a chance to become part of the Lilith legacy. Upload your best original song and stay tuned for more details!
