My name is Kayley Weller, and I'm currently 21 years old and I have just released my debut album ‘Chasing Dreams’. I first got into playing guitar and singing in 2003, after coming off Bruce Springsteen's Rising Tour. He inspired me so much, and after seeing him perform 75 times, I had to get a guitar and once I had it, there was no turning back, I had the rock and roll buzz! I started writing, and the more I wrote, the more I found it just came naturally to me. I have had lots of interest shown in my music already. I have a big following on You Tube from people all over the world and one of my videos has been chosen by the Californian Highway Patrol, to be used on there brand new training video, which is to be shown to around 20,000 people in the USA and around 15,000 people in Canada. They chose my song ‘Long Drive Home’ which is on my album to play at the start of the DVD and they chose Bruce Springsteen’s song ‘Wreck On The Highway’ to play at the end. It is an honor to be credited alongside Bruce Springsteen. I was also lucky enough to have met Meat Loaf at his London show in August, where he talked about me maybe performing live with him on his next tour. Meat Loaf had looked at my You Tube page and liked my song ‘Secret Smile’ and thought it would work well on his next tour. My hometown Deal, its local km paper, The Mercury has done an interview with me, to talk about the release of my album and our local record store Sound House is selling copies of my album. I have also been on local radio KMFM where they played a track off my album and did a live interview with me. I have done an interview for BBC Radio Kent, where I talked about my new album and they played a song off my album too. ‘Chasing Dreams’ has been in the making for around 3 years. I was at a time in my life where I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do, or where I was headed, but yet no matter what path I chose I always came back to music. So I figured I would go with that, began writing and put ‘Chasing Dreams’ together. The album features 10 tracks, all written and performed by me. It is a very personal album, a journey of self discovery, of how I got to where I am today with the release of my album. How I would best describe my music is, acoustic rock; Bruce Springsteen influenced. My albums have been selling steadily, not just in the UK but also in Italy, Denmark, Germany, Ireland and The United States. I have performed various gigs throughout Kent and London, one of which was a Children In Need Show, where I performed at a theatre in Margate to 300 people. I have also been offered to co-star in a new US Drama Series called ‘This Hard Land’ which is due to start filming later this year. The show is going to feature music from my album plus new material I have written. I play live with my bass player Antony Bartlett and normally play anything up to a 2 hour+ show.
