June born Charles Collington, is a very interesting music artist with a lot to bring to hip hop today. Born in Toronto, Canada, from Jamaican parents, his background alone breaths diversity into his music. He moved to P. G. County Maryland when he was 8 months old. Growing up in PG, he experienced a lot of different things. At seven, his father left his mother alone to raise six children all on her own. With his mother working two jobs to survive for much of his younger days, he was highly influenced by the life his older brothers chose. Times were very hard as a child growing up with little supervision, in a house with no food, heat, or both. As a child he never understood how growing up in the affluent area of Fort Washington could be so rough in comparison to his school mates. By the time he was seventeen, two of his brothers were dead, and the other two were in jail. By this time he was a very small time hustla (if you would call it that), who always had something to sell either legal, or illegal. Watching people around him fall instead of rise made him see that path in another light. Around this time he was starting to get a little notice with his rhymes and started recording with a group called the Have Nots. His love for poetry had transformed into a rage filled rapper, releasing his deepest emotions. His stint with the Have Nots was short lived due to the incarceration of his mentor, Shorty. After that he started recording all of over the area when he met "HB" for Baseline. He then started recording out of Studio Blueroom. His biggest influenced being Tupac Shakur, he starting recording music and writing at an alarming rate. He quickly finished his first cd titled "The Calm Before The Storm". He started performing at different shows and started winning showcases. With a voice that people say sounds like Freeway and Camron, and a diverse style similar to Pac and Nas, he quickly grabbed the ears of listeners. He feels that there is a lot of good music in hip hop, but also a lot of bad music in hip hop. He also says the bad music is making real fans stray. He believes his perseverance, drive, dedication, and creativity will motivate fans to believe again. June also belives that his music is a sign of his personal growth as a man. His "Dough Getter" movement will be very big soon so listen and enjoy!
