About Julie Reyburn

Portrait of Julie Reyburn
Raised on Bonnie Raitt, The Band, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez and Joni Mitchell, Julie's original music is a reflection of the folk rock era of the 60's and 70's. Having an eclectic taste in music, her compositions range from acoustic to funk R-n-B rooted in the basic human connection of love, loss, family and society.
Julie is a Massachusetts native who grew up on Cape Cod. Her early musical influences came from her parents, a folk rock duo called Brandywyne. When she was a good girl or if the babysitter couldn’t get her to sleep, Julie was invited up on stage to sing with her parents in small clubs like the Black Swan in Hyannisport.
Her debut show and CD titled, Fate is Kind received critical acclaim and won Julie the Backstage Bistro and MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs) Awards for Outstanding Female Debut.

Since that debut year, Julie has continued performing her one woman shows in Manhattan at The Firebird, The Duplex, Helen’s, The Triad, Encore, and Judy’s to name a few. Her shows garnered the first ever Nightlife Award for Outstanding Female Vocalist in 2003 and the MAC Award for Female Vocalist. The Siegels Column on Theatremania.com voted Julie Top Female Vocalist two years in a row. In 2005, Julie was named among The Best of Boston – Top 10 Cabaret Shows by Edge Magazine and collected a nomination for a Nightlife Award.
Singing has brought Julie to New York’s famed Town Hall where she performed in the Broadway Musicals of 1940 (Broadway by the Year Series) and can be heard on the cast recording. From Chicago to Philadelphia to The Hamptons to Town Hall and the new Rose Theatre at the Time Warner Center, The Mabel Mercer Foundation has invited Julie as a special guest performer in their annual and touring Conventions.

Julie resides in Manhattan with her husband Thor and daughter.
