Born in Alabama, John (JT) Medlen started playing guitar when he was in his early teens. He grew up mostly in the Huntington Beach area of California. His love for music has made him the great musician that he is today. Inspired by people like Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, Brent Mason, Johnny Cash, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Joe Satriani, Steve Via and Steve Lukather, it would seem that at some point he wasn’t really sure what he was going to do. One side of him went to school and became a great lawyer practicing out of the Westlake Village area in California, the other side became Los Angeles’ 2005 Music Awards Guitar Player of the Year.
JT has really done well for himself. He’s toured the country with such band’s as ’Runaway Train’, The Music Machine and Glenn Turman and the Backyard Blues Band. His favorite styles of music to play range from rock & roll to the blues and country. In the world of rock, blues, and country many would say that JT is a “Guitar God” in his own right. JT can definitely hold his own in any musical situation he is put in. If you are ever in the Ventura County area be sure to look him up - he may be playing in a honky tonk by you.
