About Chief Realla

Chicago, IL

Chief Realla was born in Chicago IL in the early 80's, on the low end of the South Side. He was separated from his father when God called his mother home at the very young age of 8. It seemed to be something he would never get over. Bouncing from family member to family member, he turned to the streets to raise him. Growing up it was a real hard knock life surrounded by the negative things in life that get most young black males locked up or dead, but Realla saw another vision that had him wanting to chase the bigger picture in life. That’s when music became his everything - the one thing no one could rob from him. He was musically inspired by artists like Bone Thugs N Harmony, Dr. Dre, Do or Die, Crucial Conflict and Twista. He began mimicking their styles and freestyling at the lunch tables as early as 6th grade. His first time ever entering a studio he met Magic Mixing Dwight, who introduced him to the world of recording. At Boogie Bird Records, he recorded his first song. His strive for making music did not end there. In high school he and his friends put together a rap group called VOD: Voices of Drama. They performed at talent shows and local city colleges. His last year of high school he moved to Las Vegas and was reunited with his father. Realla’s dad bought him his own keyboard, which sparked his interest in beat making and producing.
As an adult, Realla moved back to the Chi, where he re-kindle an elementary school romance. Due to financial hardship and a baby on the way, he had to make ends meet by any means necessary. The street mentality that he moved to get away from, quickly crept back into his life. His music aspirations fell by the wayside as the life of drugs and getting money became his priority. After numerous shoot outs, drive-bys, drug busts, gang fights and retaliations, Realla decided that was not the life he wanted. He left the Chi again for Job Corps and graduated. He did not discover who he was musically until he met his wife a moved to California. Within a week of living in Cali, he met Doe Boi. This young man introduced Realla to a group that would be the stepping stone of his music career. The Block Runnas, were a group of lyrically talented individuals, that not only allowed Realla’s creativity to grow, but he also learned the legal aspects of the rap industry. Realla released a group album, 4 mixtapes and a solo single while with The Block Runnas. Due to financial misrepresentation, egos, and theft, Realla could not stay with the group. He ventured out on his own and linked up with Mike N Ike studios. There he was able to establish himself as a solo artist. His individuality began to soar. He began performing in clubs and venues. He learned the fundamentals of how to run a studio and produce his own music. From this learning experience he was able for form his on record label NTG ENT.
Through his company, he has worked with and developed numerous artists. He has made a name for himself amongst his community. He has worked with artists in different countries. His latest achievement was landing a distribution deal with Universal Records and Blasia Entertainment. He is now working on new avenues of entertainment which include but are not limited to producing his own albums, commercials, movies, track placements and the like. He is living his dream and always striving to dream bigger. "Money had never been the main thing for me. It's the legacy that is important." Chief Realla
