Perfection Records- Comprised of Michael Nowlin, Shawn Cannady, and Joel Wood, was formed in July of 2006 out of a common bond. "Big Mike" , "Lil Shawn" and "JW" as they're commonly called, had a natural talent for Music dating back to their early teens. At age 14, Joel made his official Singing debut at a talent show at his Middle School performing for then-girl crush, Katy Broom. It was then that Joel learned where his passion lied..Over the years, Joel would sing at several more talent shows before meeting Mike Nowlin in June of 2005..It was quickly discovered that they had a natural love for R&B.
It was a year later that Mike and Joel, along with mutual friend Shawn, decided to start their own group- Perfection Records. At first, Joel was hesitant, citing it being 3 years since he did a song... But his love for Latoya Winnfield, combined with Mike's love for music, they decided to join up with Shawn to form Perfection Records. It would take Six Months but in June of 2007, Perfection Records released it's self titled Debut CD.. With Songs such as I Am Free, I'm Sorry, Here I Am, and Follow Your Dreams, The CD has been dedicated to the families and friends of Mike and Joel .. *UPDATE*: After the successful release of the Solo CD Joel Wood went in to Studio to work on a second Solo album in February 2008...On May 22nd, 2008, the Album "Transformation of a Champion" drops...Hits like Destiny featuring Gifted Music Group member Mike Nowlin has already received much praise as the first hit from the album...With tracks like Destiny, When the Rain Falls, Blind, Changes,and All These Years...Joel's second Solo album has been dedicated to Ashley, Mike, and everyone who's supported him over the years. Mike, meanwhile, has gone in to the studio to work on his debut solo album...With hits featuring Let Me Know, Broken Part Two, Take the Pain Away, and It's Okay, Mike's album has already received much praise as a successful debut album.
