Jody Byrd

Jody Byrd has been singing professionally, and writing songs for 14 years. He started his first swing band in the mid nineties, and after 3 years the band went on to win 2 major Peoples Choice Awards, in Phoenix for Best Swing Band. He moved on at that point to Charlotte, NC,as the Featured Performer at a supper club called Swing1000, and to continue his education as a performer, and writer, his stay in Charlotte culminated with a gig traveling all over the SE, with The Andrew Theilen Big Band, for a year and a half. After that,He moved on to New Orleans, where after only 1 week, he fell in love with that glorious city,he has been continuing his education in New Orleans, and has currently released his brand new album entitled: New Orleans Love Affair. Jody has moved on to Southern California, and is currently working on the next phase of his career. His influences are many, they all started with Frank Sinatra, and Harry Connick Jr, and they remain two very big influences, as well as Ella Fitzgerald, Bobby Darin, Mel Torme, and many new artists including Jaime Cullum, Diana Krall, and John Mayer. His writing is always taking him on different roads, and he is constantly being influenced by new ideas , and artists, that always take his music in a different direction. Jody Byrd is a very talented, and very versatile singer, and is capable of singing many different genres.
