Guitar Music in general is now widely accepted . Infact, it has a growing community of players and listeners in all age groups and formats. Despite Smooth Jazz Stations that catered to a specific set of artists Metheny et el and to a certain guitar voice , no reflection on the player, but the voice was uniformly innocuous. I like these players : Norman Brown, Chuck Loeb, Lee Ritenour etc – but the guitar community is now expanding to the crunchy and a tad intrusive voice of players like myself and Peter Northcote, Scott Bradoka , Allen Hinds , Scott Henderson and the growing legions of shredders who have to come up for air every now and again. It is from this position i challenge the airways like CD 101 , KKSF and KCSM to start adopting the fringe player as you see us and start adding us to your playlist – all responses welcomed.
