I started early with music because of my mother. I sang in choir when I was 8 years old. My mother also introduced me to the accordion at a young age when the accordion was bigger than I was. I started playing guitar when I was 12 years old. My wife, Michelle, and I spent the late 70's and early 80's in Austin - the music was fantastic. My older brother, Keith, and I played guitars and sang together regularly in Austin. I now live with Michelle in Houston, TX. Texas is my adopted home. I started my latest period of songwriting after my youngest daughter, Liz, moved back to Houston and started writing and playing her own music. She asked me to play guitar at several of her gigs, and that was enough to get me started writing again. One of the highlights of playing with Liz was being asked on stage to play a song with her at Anderson Fair. I now write and record on a regular basis in Houston, TX.
