I was born in rural Illinois during a January blizzard to a dairy farmer and stay-at-home mom in 1980. I grew up around the prairies my Scots/Irish ancestors settled when they immigrated to America nearly two centuries ago.
I am uncertain whether I fell in love with music or if music fell in love with me. Being a dreamer, my naivety about music and the creation of, never stopped me from writing songs as a child and envisioning myself performing. I followed the paths available to me at the time and sang in local congregations and at celebrations. Pouring over books of fiction and non-fiction alike, I became enthralled with the world and music of the Celts in the mid 1990's. Drawn in by the rhythms and sounds, I became deeply interested in uncovering the past and linking the present.
Beyond music I have a great many interests with shelves of books, magazines, and articles that attest to my ever growing curiosity. From cooking, to religion, history, travel nutrition, sewing, gardening, letter writing and decorating, I have enough to last at least two lifetimes! When I am able to carve out time for myself, I can be found with at least four books open, in the process of being read, and a few dozen magazines at my feet.

In a performance career spanning nearly two decades, LaDage's evocative eclectic Celtic music, praised for it's " hauntingly beautiful" sound has filled concert halls, crossing through musical antiquities of the Celtic age. An International artist performing in concert halls and libraries throughout the Midwest and Northeast United States, she receives radio airplay that is heard from Israel to France. In 2009 The Ancestry Tour has taken Ms. LaDage to performances with The Philadelphia Free Library, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, The Green Man Music Hall, Viroqua, Wisconsin, Ritual Cafe, Des Moines, Iowa.
Ms. LaDage's debut album is distributed in France and is available in Northern Illinois through area retailers. The Tartan Telegraph, the newsletter for the St. Andrew's Society of Springfield, MO reviewed Jillian LaDage's debut album, The Ancestry as "a sophisticated recording" and "precise and evocative vocals and harp-playing. The result is a truly rich polyphonic soundscape."
With Ms. LaDage providing vocals, as well as accompaniment on piano and harp, she performs alone, as a duo and accompanied by a full ensemble of musicians including hurdy gurdy, guitar, clarinet, viola, violin, cello, uillean pipes, tabla, bodhran and more.
She is self-produced, self-managed and the owner of her thriving independent record label, Tarith Cote, located in Woodstock, Illinois, United States.
