At age 9, Jeremy Henry began making remixes, using a stop/motion technique by recording samples from vinyl records onto cassette tapes, giving birth to his glitch-infused style. His fascination with technology and sound manipulation led to DIY production, combining varied elements of his background (which ranges from ‘80s hip-hop to Broadway showtunes) in a cohesive musical expression of his unique life perspective. Jeremy began to produce music professionally in 2006, using advances in technology to create remixes and mash-ups (citing Girl Talk as an influence), and using those sensibilities to compose original songs. As a remix artist, Jeremy Henry burst onto the music scene in 2010 with back-to-back wins on Indaba Music remix contests. His remix for "Only An Expert" was chosen the Grand Prize Winner by Laurie Anderson and Lou Reed, and featured on the Deluxe Version of her critically acclaimed album Homeland. A week later, his remix of Weezer's "Love Is The Answer" was chosen by Rivers Cuomo as a runner-up, and will receive an official release this year. In August he was named the Grand Prize Winnerm and Honorable mention in the Dan Black and Slightly Stoopid remix contests, respectively. This brought his total to placing in 4 national contests in one summer. Jeremy has also had official releases for electro-indie darlings Electric Valentine, Jasper James, Kid Akimbo, NYC performance artist Don PV, Canadian alt-rockers Everyone's Talking, and created the "unofficial" megamix for Season One of Elaine Carroll's cult-hit comedy webseries, Very Mary Kate. Jeremy Henry's Haus of Glitch is also a frequent collaborator with Joseph Gordon-Levitt's onlline production company hitRECord.org and has had work featured on the site as well as in public shows.
