They say Kings sit at the table J Dough aka Mr. DOA, is no exception to this rule. Already making moves through Atlanta’s underground scene and online, J Dough has been quietly positioning himself to become a leader for hip-hop’s new generation. J Dough was poised to be among the hip-hop ruling class when he picked up a pen a pad at the age of 12. Influenced by New Orleans’ luminaries such Cash Money and the Hot Boy’s, Atlanta’s own T.I., Outkast, Pastor Troy, Jay- Z, Bun B as well as the late greats, Notorious B.I.G. and Pimp C, Mr. DOA style of rhyme is as complete as it comes in this day and age. Creative with his word play, yet aggressive in delivery, J Dough can get raw with the grittiest rappers in the streets, yet prolific enough to garner the respect of hip-hop’s thinking man. While still fresh to many, J Dough is no stranger to the rap game. He honed his skills by watching today’s greatest entertainers such as Lil’ Wayne, Young Jeezy, and Rick Ross put out their classic debuts. It was during those years that DOA learned the ins and outs of song structure. But right as DOA was prepping for his inevitable debut, he was entangled with life’s up and downs that prevented him from advancing further into his career. Discouraged by current situations he began to feel sour towards making music. Yet DOA stayed in touch with former childhood friend J.R. and production partner Morry aka “Steven Da Great” (Babajide, Crown Heights). Together the 3 started working on new songs developing his song writing and production talent. He reemerged again this past year, bolder, wiser, words all the more sharper. With his managers in tow, J Dough aligned himself with J.R. and Morry’s Crown Heights Inc and rapidly began to make up for lost time by providing quality music plans to bring their story to the forefront.
