Singing all of her life, Jasmine burst onto the scene in October 2010 with her debut single, "Back to My Love," an independent production co-written by her mentor, Grammy nominated singer/songwriter and producer, Aaron Sledge.
When Aaron first heard Jasmine sing, he was struck by her harmonic tone and immediately pressed her about her plans for a singing career. With writing and production credits under his belt for a wide range of artists including Nelly, Tyrese, Mario, Mary Mary, and Akon to name a few, Aaron recognized the star potential in Jasmine.
Since she was a child, Jasmine has been belting out the tunes of some of her favorite artists which include Brandy, Whitney Houston, Beyonce, Joann Rosario, Shania Twain and the Dixie Chicks. "Yes, I was THAT KID where my brother and sisters couldn't shut me up when it came to singing," she admits with a grin.
Jasmine is on the path of her music idols by making sure fans feel the music first and foremost. "My generation appreciates and listens to all types of music," says Jasmine. No one genre of music defines us or me. "Sometimes I just want to sing about aving fun with my girls. Other times, I want to talk about what it feels like to be in love or falling out of love. What I sing about is universal."
Currently a senior at St. Xavier University in Chicago, Jasmine has parlayed her life as a student to help kick off her music career, thanks to a huge network of friends and followers. With "Back to My Love," in rotation on university radio stations and in-store promotions with national retailer, Walgreens, Jasmine is off to a music career that's bound to set her up to become a star, or better yet, a superstar to follow for years to come.
