Garrett coined the name Jamal Skye or “J-Skye” after graduating high school and relocating to Atlanta. “Jamal”, which is derived from his given middle name and “Skye”, signifying no limits or boundaries to his musical talents. A master of his craft, J-Skye started singing at the age of five in the grassroots of Baptist churches like most legendary singers before his time, at the age of twelve however, Jamal could not ignore the creative genius in him for REAL R&B music.
